As many of you know my Mom and Dad were lifelong residents of New Jersey up until they retired and moved down to Florida. They still make it back up to the Garden State every once in awhile for a visit and this week they made some time in they very busy schedule to come see us.
On Monday Mom and Dad came over to our house, and we spent a beautiful afternoon hanging out on the patio. Though judging by the picture below it was a little bit sunnier out than I realized:

At Mom and Dad’s request we ordered some pizza for dinner. They complain that the Florida pizza is not very good. They like the weather in Florida and all the golfing, but they do miss NJ pizza.
On Tuesday Dad was golfing with some of his high school buddies, so Mom and I had a girl’s day and took a little trip to Von Thun Farms where we explored the NJ Sunflower Trail. It was pretty awesome and my shutterbug mom was in her glory snapping photos of flowers, bees, butterflies and farm animals. Here’s a photo of us that a helpful fellow tourist was nice enough to snap:

We had a fun day together, and I have to say that the weather was really on its best behavior and we had a perfect day for walking through fields of flowers!
I hope you’re having a groovy week!

P.S. As soon as he saw that photo above Ron recognized it was a 1971 Beetle.

You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! Loved all the photos.
It really was perfect!
Glad you had great weather. We just spent a week in Perry at Cobscook Bay Cottages on the ocean in Washington County. It’s been a tradition most years since 2008. Extreme quiet, tons of walking trails and I get to hit two library book sales (one of my guilty pleasures).
Ooh I love a library book sale!
And you missed hurricane Debby !!
Mom and Dad definitely timed their visit well. Had it been a week earlier we would have been hanging out inside watching the rain.
Love the field of sunflowers. So great to have your fam visit. Love family. Mine is dwindling. I like that word rather than passing. Not complaining here. But look forward to fall and cooler temps. Hugs. B
Hugs, Barb!
We moved to Arizona from New Jersey in 1988. The pizza here leaves much to be desired too. There is no pizza like Jersey pizza. I miss it so much.
I’d send you some if I could, but I don’t think it would survive the mail!
I had a wonderful two days! Miss you already!😘
Me too!
