First, off despite the ominous title things are going pretty well here. It’s pretty much all sunshine and roses or at least sunshine and dandelions. Though, technically it’s only sunshine in the metaphorical sense of the word, because let me tell you it’s been clouds on top of clouds here for several days, with every once in awhile some blue sky peaking through.

This past weekend some solar storms created some beautiful and impressive northern lights in all sorts of places that don’t normally get to see them. Even Florida got to see some northern lights. Though, I will say that none of the folks I know in Florida were lucky enough to see them firsthand.
I feel your pain, Florida family. We went out several times to look for them, but alas the clouds were not cooperating. I didn’t take any pictures, but if you want to visualize what I saw just picture complete and total blackness.
At one point when we were out there looking for northern lights Ron pointed at one spot of the sky that was a little bit brighter than the rest of the black sky, wondering if that could be something, but I thought it might be the moon, and sure enough at the same time the next night we did see the moon clearly in the same spot but alas by that point the pretty lights weren’t as dramatic enough to be seen as far south as us.
Ironically, we generally have a pretty clear view of the night sky here. Ron, who is a night owl, is always out there at night looking up at the stars. I think he’s seen more shooting stars than anyone I know and is always spotting the space station as it passes overhead. Though he does claim on those nights when they say we’re supposed to see a lot of shooting stars, he usually doesn’t have much luck spotting any.
Well, I hope you were one of the lucky ones that got to see some of those northern lights, and if not I hope there’s sunshine headed your way, at least the metaphorical kind!

The northern lights were viewable here in Massachusetts Friday night. Unfortunately, I was asleep and missed the whole show 😦
I feel your pain! Unlike my boyfriend, I am definitely not a night owl. So, I rely on him for reports of shooting stars and space station sightings.
Aww.. wishing you brighter days ahead 🌞! Gray skies can make us moody.😘
Thanks!
“Gray skies are gonna clear up! Put on a happy face…” 😉 We didn’t see the Northern Lights, either.
Thx for the view from your corner of the world. We’ve had a big helping of rain n clouds. Ready for sunshine here in Ohio. B
One of these days we’re bound to get some sun!
